“Most of us want to make a positive impact on society. Do something good and help improve the lives of our brethren who are less fortunate. Doing so would enrich our own lives” These were the words of our instructor during the session titled “Socrates dialogue” at TSALS which I attended in June last year. The words kept reverberating in my mind throughout the night and fortunately the next morning we were asked to commit ourselves to a project. Fortunately, I had been to a hospital a few weeks back and had heard the cries of some patients and their families in need of a kidney. This initiated a discussion at home about the need for propagating organ donation in India. So when my turn to name my project came up, I just blabbered “I will spread the awareness for organ donation in India” And I took quite the literal meaning of it. When I told people about it they either sniggered or thought I was mad. It’s not very often that we see young children turning thoughts into action. The very thought of doing something that will help save lives made adrenalin flow through my veins. I committed myself to starting a website- www.SaveLivesDonateOrgans.com, a medium through which I could reach out to people and try and convince them.
