Navigating the Maritime Maze: India-Sri Lanka in the Indian Ocean Region
On 28 November 2024, Ananta Aspen Centre and the Pathfinder Foundation co-convened their second virtual Roundtable Discussion, “Navigating the Maritime Maze: India-Sri Lanka in the Indian Ocean Region.”
Domain experts, serving and retired officers, policymakers, and journalists participated in addressing key maritime security concerns for India and Sri Lanka in the Indian Ocean.
The participants emphasized the importance of coordinated naval patrols and surveillance in the Indian Ocean to combat these threats effectively. Additionally, the roundtable reviewed existing maritime laws and agreements, identifying gaps and proposing measures to strengthen cooperation.
