Foreign minister Sushma Swaraj launched a broadside against Pakistan for what she described as its “commitment” to use of terrorism as an instrument of state policy and its verbal duplicity in masking its role as a sponsor of terrorism. In her speech to the UN General Assembly, Swaraj who listed climate change alongside terrorism as two of the biggest “existential threats” facing the world, also made a strong case for reforming the world body, warning that “the importance, influence, respect and value” accorded to the institution had begun to “ebb.”
