As part of its G20 Presidency agenda India is seeking to get governments to agree to a common regulatory framework for cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum. This would include issues like taxation, financial integrity and the possible macro economic stability implications of such digital products. India is drawing from proposals made by the IMF, OECD, and the Financial Stability Board and Bank of International Settlements but still has to find a common ground. A collective global endeavour needs to be made to deal with a cutting edge digital technology that also carries with it considerable disruptive potential. Hence this discussion aims to explore the future of crypto currency digitisation and how the G20 nations can come together to make this possible.
