Tokyo Regional Meeting
The Trilateral Commission Asia Pacific Group Regional Meeting was held in November 2022, in Tokyo, Japan. It was the first in-person regional meeting post Seoul 2019. In this meeting, the spirit and success of democracy were highlighted by giving examples to the U.S. midterm elections, the French presidential elections and the elections in Israel, all instances where the election results were accepted.
The idea of engaging China was discussed in the meeting. There is no point talking about Asia without engaging with the participation of the region’s largest country.
The discussion further expanded to the current geo-political scenario. India is one of the few countries that can play the geopolitical game. Today, the partnership with the US, Australia and Japan is becoming more efficient in realizing India’s ambitions.
