A unique values-based leadership programme was conceptualized by Ananta Aspen Centre in partnership with the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of ASEAN India Partnership. The programme has served as a big step towards promoting ties among successful young leaders from the region and enhancing socio-cultural ties among India and ASEAN member states. The programme has participants from Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and India.
The programme addresses the common concerns between ASEAN and India and aims to build a pipeline of values-based leaders who would serve as Ambassadors of their countries. These leaders would take on an individual or collective social venture or project on pressing social issues which runs as a thread across the region and make a substantive difference while building lifelong friendships.
This programme is aimed at multi-stakeholder engagement and has tremendous relevance for ASEAN states. Strong networking amongst accomplished leaders in the prime of their careers with the potential to shape society and address development challenges collectively would also be useful. A programme like this would sensitize them further and lead to greater exchange of thoughts and ideas on building a better region.
